When Chicago native Katie met Seattle resident Brian (in town for a boy’s weekend) at Stanley’s Kitchen and Tap, there was an immediate spark. But according to bride Katie, the couple remained “realistic about the fact that dating across the country wasn’t really an option.” However, their chemistry was undeniable, and after a few months the couple found themselves talking every day.  Says Katie, “the next thing I knew I was booking a flight to Seattle for a visit only to move there later to start our life together.”

When it came time to plan their intimate celebration, Chicago felt like the natural choice, specifically their ceremony space in the heart of Maggie Daley Park. Katie gushes, “ It was so special to get married in the city where we had many for our first dates, early memories and really fell in love.  We could not have picked a better place for us to start the rest of our lives together – everything felt perfect. The Cancer Survivor’s Garden is a venue made for weddings, a beautiful private garden set in the middle of the city with backdrops of skyscrapers and The Field Museum. It is the perfect blend of city and nature…It was the definition of “epic” when I walked down the aisle and saw Brian standing at the end of it with that setting around us.  It was the best walk of my life”

This sweet pair then joined their bridal party for a short cruise on the Chicago River, arriving at their River Roast reception via water taxi. The couple then spent the rest of the evening celebrating with their family and friends, enjoying especially their Seattle Seahawks themed wedding cake and custom selfie photo booth.  “We’re so thrilled to have these amazing pictures to remember the big day for the rest of our lives,” says Katie, “Thank you Artisan Events for making this day come to life via photography!” Thank you for having us, Katie + Brian!
